Continuum is BadWolfMC's daily Continuity and engagement system. It rewards regular meaningful play without requiring you to log in every single calendar day, and it includes several ways to protect a Continuity when real life gets in the way.

Continuum is built around three scales of play:

  • Personal — your Fixed Points, Continuity, protections, milestones, and Personal Goals.
  • Companion — one-to-one friendships with shared Companion Continuity, Time Lock rescue, shared Goals, and milestones.
  • Community — server- or network-wide Goals that everyone can help complete.

Most features can be used either through the inventory menus or through /streak commands.

Fixed Points and Continuity

A Fixed Point is the successful completion of one Continuum logical day. The current activity requirement is 15 minutes of connected play during that logical day.

Your connected time can be split across BadWolfMC servers. For example, time spent on Delta and Alpha during the same logical day can combine toward the same Fixed Point.

Once you establish the day's Fixed Point:

  • your Continuity increases by 1;
  • you cannot earn a second Fixed Point for the same logical day;
  • additional play that day does not increase Continuity again.

Your logical day

Logical days begin at 6:00AM in the America/New_York timezone. You can also set your timezone using the /streak GUI or the /streak timezone set <IANA-zone> command.

You can see today's state with:

/streak status

and get a more detailed explanation of a retained date with:

/streak why
/streak why YYYY-MM-DD

Time Locks

Time Locks automatically protect an otherwise missed logical day. You do not manually choose which date to use one on; Continuum consumes them chronologically when a missed date finalizes and protection is available.

  • New Continuum participation starts with 2 Time Locks;
  • Earning 4 Fixed Points during a Monday-Sunday logical week awards 1 Time Lock;
  • Your effective maximum number of Time Locks varies with your server rank:
    • Member & Iron: 2
    • Gold: 3
    • Diamond: 5
  • If your maximum later becomes lower than your existing balance, already-earned Time Locks are kept. The lower maximum limits future acquisition rather than confiscating them.

A Time Lock preserves personal Continuity but does not add another Fixed Point to it.

Check your current balance with:

/streak balances
/streak lock status

Polarity Reversals

A Polarity Reversal can repair the most recent eligible ordinary break in your Continuity.

  • New Continuum participation starts with 1 Polarity Reversal;
  • Normal monthly grant: 1;
  • Normal balance cap: 1;
  • Repair window: 48 hours;
  • Maximum normally repairable gap: 1 missed logical day;
  • You must establish the current logical day's Fixed Point first;
  • Only the most recent eligible break can normally be repaired.

Use:

/streak repair

A repaired date becomes Repaired. It reconnects/preserves the Continuity, but the repaired date does not become an earned Fixed Point and does not itself add 1 to the Continuity count.

Vacation

Vacation is planned Continuity protection for time you know you will be away.

  • 28 protected Vacation days in a rolling 365-day window;
  • Minimum Vacation length: 2 logical days;
  • Maximum Vacation length: 14 logical days;
  • Early-return cooldown before scheduling another Vacation: 2 logical days.

A Vacation begins on your next logical day, not immediately when you schedule it.

While Vacation is active, activity does not count toward a Fixed Point. Vacation preserves your Continuity without increasing it.

A Vacation day is charged only if that logical date actually finalizes as Vacation. If you return early and end Vacation before the current logical date finalizes, that date is not charged as Vacation; it must instead resolve normally through a Fixed Point, Time Lock, or miss.

Use:

/streak vacation
/streak vacation status
/streak vacation start <days>
/streak vacation start <days> confirm
/streak vacation cancel
/streak vacation end
/streak vacation end confirm

cancel is for a scheduled Vacation that has not started. end is for returning early from a Vacation that is already active.

When ending early, the change is immediate: activity before the committed return time does not count, while activity afterward may count toward that logical day's Fixed Point.

Milestones

Personal milestones are automatic achievements. They do not take up Personal Goal slots and do not need to be manually joined.

The milestone system recognizes Continuity achievements through rewards. The exact milestone names, thresholds, and rewards are shown in Continuum and may change as BadWolfMC's milestone catalog evolves.

Browse your milestone progress with:

/streak milestones
/streak milestones <page>

Personal Goals

Personal Goals are optional challenges you pursue yourself. The exact enabled Goals, targets, timing, and rewards shown through the Goal menu/commands.

Personal Goal families include:

  • Fixed Points in a window — for example, earn a set number of Fixed Points during a week, month, or rolling set of logical days. A strict version can require every eligible date.
  • Clean Fixed Point run — build a consecutive run of earned Fixed Points without specified protection events interrupting it.
  • Gain Continuity — increase Continuity by a configured amount from the Goal's starting baseline.
  • Beat Personal Best — exceed the longest Continuity you had when the Goal began.

Each player can have up to 3 active/scheduled selectable Personal Goals at once.

Some Goals begin automatically; others are manually selectable. Some definitions may also allow you to enable automatic restart after successful completion. Your preference never bypasses the Goal's normal repeat/cooldown rules.

Commands:

/streak goals
/streak goals list
/streak goal view <goal>
/streak goal join <goal>
/streak goal leave <goal>
/streak goal leave <goal> confirm
/streak goal autorestart <goal> on
/streak goal autorestart <goal> off

Companions

A Companion is a mutual one-to-one non-exclusive Continuum relationship. Each player can have several different Companions who do not need to be connected to one another.

Your effective maximum number of Companions varies with your server rank:

  • Member & Iron: 2
  • Gold: 3
  • Diamond: 5

If you get Diamond and establish 5 Companions but later fall back to Gold, existing Companion relationships remain intact; you simply cannot establish additional relationships until you are within your current limit.

Incoming Companion requests are allowed by default and the invited player does not need to be online at the time (but would need to have an established Continuity). Requests normally expire after 7 days.

Managing Companions

/streak companion
/streak companion list <page>
/streak companion view <player>
/streak companion request <player>
/streak companion accept <player>
/streak companion decline <player>
/streak companion remove <player>
/streak companion remove <player> confirm
/streak companion requests on
/streak companion requests off

Removing a Companion also ends any incomplete shared Companion Goals for that relationship, so Continuum asks for confirmation first.

Companion Continuity

Companion Continuity compares matching finalized logical-date labels for the two players. You do not need to share a timezone or play at the same time.

For each matching finalized date:

Your result / Companion result Companion Continuity
Both are Fixed Point or Time Lock Advances by 1
Both maintained Continuity, but at least one result is Repaired, Vacation, or Exempt Preserved; does not advance
Either player is Missed Breaks
One matching date is not finalized yet Waits for both dates to finalize

This means a Time Lock can keep a Companion journey moving forward, while Vacation or a repaired/exempt date protects the relationship without artificially increasing its shared count.

Time Lock gifts and rescue alerts

You may send one of your Time Locks to a Companion when the gifting rules allow it:

/streak companion gift <player>

Current rules allow:

  • 1 gift per Companion pair per week;
  • 1 total Companion Time Lock gift per donor per week;
  • the receiving Companion must have room under their current normal Time Lock maximum.

Companion rescue alerts are enabled by default. When a Companion with an active journey is approaching reset without a Fixed Point or available Time Lock, eligible online Companions can receive one at-risk alert approximately 6 hours before that player's reset. A committed rescue disarms that episode, and alerts do not repeatedly fire every day for someone who has not returned; rescue re-arms after the player personally establishes another Fixed Point.

Companion Goals

Companion Goals belong to one Companion pair and require mutual acceptance.

Current supported Goal families include:

  • Companion Continuity gain;
  • Companion Fixed Points in a window, with matched, combined, or each-player contribution styles;
  • strict matched-date challenges such as a "Perfect Pair" definition require every eligible shared date while treating Vacation/Exempt dates neutrally.

BadWolfMC's current limits are:

  • up to 2 active Companion Goals per player;
  • up to 1 active Companion Goal per Companion pair.

Commands:

/streak companion goals <player>
/streak companion goal view <player> <goal>
/streak companion goal invite <player> <goal>
/streak companion goal accept <player>
/streak companion goal decline <player>
/streak companion goal leave <player> <goal>
/streak companion goal leave <player> <goal> confirm

Companion milestones are automatic relationship achievements and do not consume a Companion Goal slot:

/streak companion milestones <player>

Community Goals

Community Goals are timed BadWolfMC-wide or server-specific challenges. You do not manually enroll; your qualifying Continuum activity contributes automatically while the event is active.

Current Community Goal objectives can count:

  • total Fixed Points;
  • unique players establishing Fixed Points;
  • Personal Goal completions;
  • Companion Goal completions.

A Community Goal may require a minimum personal contribution before you qualify for its reward. The Goal detail view shows overall progress, your contribution, the qualification minimum, event window, and whether you currently qualify.

Commands:

/streak community
/streak community list <page>
/streak community view <goal>

History and "why"

Continuum keeps the detailed history of your continuity for 183 days. Browse it with:

/streak history list
/streak history list YYYY-MM
/streak history list YYYY-MM <page>
/streak history gui
/streak history gui YYYY-MM

The history calendar and /streak why can distinguish states such as:

State Meaning
Fixed Point The activity requirement was reached for that logical day.
Time Lock No Fixed Point was earned; a Time Lock was automatically consumed to preserve Continuity.
Vacation The date finalized under scheduled Vacation protection.
Repaired A Polarity Reversal repaired the missed date; Continuity was preserved but no Fixed Point was added for that date.
Missed The date finalized without a Fixed Point or available protection and broke Continuity.
Exempt An eligibility/administrative policy protected the date without adding a Fixed Point or consuming ordinary protection.

When detailed history has aged beyond the retention window, Continuum may show that the detailed record has expired instead of reconstructing information it no longer retains.

Leaderboards

Continuum provides three player leaderboards:

/streak top current
/streak top longest
/streak top month

They show current Continuity, longest Continuity, and current-month Fixed Points respectively.

Settings

Open the Settings menu with:

/streak settings

The current settings cover timezone, language, and notification categories.

Timezone

/streak timezone show
/streak timezone list
/streak timezone list <filter>
/streak timezone set <IANA-zone>

Use a real IANA timezone such as America/New_York, Europe/London, or Australia/Adelaide.

A self-service timezone change normally has a 90-day cooldown. The change is scheduled forward; existing Continuum history is not rewritten into the new timezone.

Language

Continuum can automatically follow your Minecraft client locale, or you can select an installed language explicitly.

Bundled languages currently include English (en-US) and Spanish (es-SV).

/streak language
/streak language auto
/streak language <locale>

Notifications

The three notification categories are enabled by default for a new participation profile:

  • Fixed Point notifications;
  • milestone notifications;
  • social/Companion notifications.
/streak notifications
/streak notifications fixed-point on
/streak notifications fixed-point off
/streak notifications milestone on
/streak notifications milestone off
/streak notifications social on
/streak notifications social off
/streak notifications all on
/streak notifications all off

Turning off a notification changes presentation only; it does not stop the underlying Continuum mechanic.

Opting out and rejoining

Continuum participation is optional, although even irregular participation can supply worthwhile rewards.

To opt out:

/streak optout
/streak optout confirm

Opting out:

  • immediately stops Continuum tracking and notifications;
  • closes your current Continuity;
  • removes you from normal public Continuum visibility;
  • schedules your detailed Continuum identity/history data for privacy cleanup after the grace period (currently 7 days).

If you later want to return:

/streak optin

Rejoining starts a new Continuity and new participation lifetime. It does not resume the old Continuity.

Quick start

If you only remember a few commands, these cover most everyday use:

/streak
/streak status
/streak balances
/streak why
/streak settings
/streak companion
/streak goals
/streak community

The inventory menus expose the same major player systems and are the easiest place to explore Continuum visually.
