The Old Village is a permanent feature on the BadWolfMC Alpha server that debuted on October 1, 2018 as part of BadWolfMC's second anniversary celebration. Made up of a handful of favorite builds from retired versions of Gallifrey by BadWolfMC Members (sadly we could not fit them all!), this collection offers a chance to explore the many styles of your fellow players. The walk down memory lane is accessible at /warp OldVillage.

Lore

A tear in the fabric of reality pulled an entire village out of time and space! A Dalek-led army of various monsters quickly converged on the village, vying for control of the city salvaged from the ashes of the Old World. After successfully defeating the hordes of enemies trying to destroy it, the Old Village was restored in a stable time-lock on Gallifrey, where it is still protected by those who beat back the original incursion.

History

The original Old Village was constructed from player builds on Gallifrey Mark 1 and released on October 1, 2018 after the update to Minecraft 1.13 and the generation of Gallifrey Mark 2.

During the Caves and Cliffs update of December 2021, Gallifrey Mark 2 was also retired, requiring construction of an updated Old Village. The original Old Village was moved to a vast underground cavern directly below the updated Old Village, accessible from the Tardis near the Village's entrance.

Torchwood

Torchwood is a recreation of the Torchwood Three base of operations and can be accessed through the fountain in the center of the Old Village or from the nearby Old Village Tourist Information Office. Its central feature is "The Torchwood Torture" maze of varying levels and several fake exits designed to, well, torture players. A shooting range, several treasure chests, and one or two custom mobs can also be found within. Torchwood opened to the public on September 22, 2021 as part of the "Torchwood Institute: Regeneration Program" meta storyline and the 5th anniversary celebration of BadWolfMC.
